I know people can be self-destructive, but damn, by the age of 48, some folks should know better. I love someone who can't get out of his own way and I'm afraid I have to finally let go of this person because he will never learn. It's not his fault--his family has always othered him. But I feel guilty because I know I have to leave him behind and I don't think he has another soft place to land.
