Extra Safe Space #3
Extra Safe Space is a place for things you’ve never told anyone before. These will always be kept completely anonymous. To tell your secret, fill out this form (it doesn’t ask for or record any identifying info). That is the only criteria. Or read other people’s here as they come in.
Every time I take my three-year-old to the playground, I fill up my water bottle with vodka beforehand. I know other moms that do this more openly, but I hide mine from everyone and lie about it. But it gets me through.
This Extra Safe Space entry (and thank you for it!) reminds me of when my daughter was little and one thoughtful Mom from our group of friends would always pack individual Poland Spring bottles of vodka and hand them out at the beginning of the play/movie/dance performance/whatever kid-friendly activity we were doing that day. The level of organization was impressive!
I have definitely spiked my Dunkin' coffee before soccer games. My then husband used to coach and screamed so loudly at the team that it was the only way I could get through a match.
