In honor of Black History Month, because we still celebrate that around here, I am going to share five classic films that I think everyone should check out at least once. My love of film began with watching films featuring African Americans, telling stories that I either found relatable or aspirational. While not every film hit the mark, many films showed the beauty and the diversity of my people, and I became inspired by the possibilities. These films span genres and periods, so I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I have.
