Happy Birthday, Patti Smith!

Aside from being the last day of the year, the main importance of December 31 is that it is Patti's birthday. In honor of hers, I hope she won't mind me sharing with you this anecdote from my own birthday last month. Patti called me from a number I didn't recognize and sang in her one of a kind voice the happy birthday song to ME! If you read these texts, you'll see what happened next.
