I heard from so many of you sweethearts when I asked here who was planning to go off Meta platforms, so am curious how it's going now halfway through your glorious statement-making week. How are you loving it? What are you doing instead? Baking? Volunteer work?
Even if you wrote to me already about getting off Meta, repeat yourself here no problem and tell me how it’s going. I'm dying to hear more from you and to be proud of you all who are adhering. (And if you're not, that's interesting too.) One thing I have noticed this week so far is that I'm getting a ton more notes and comments on Substack, which has been fun.
In other words, let's use this platform to talk about being off of those other platforms!
PS My phone here is showing an IG story that AJPT Contributor Michael Stipe posted before the no-Meta intiative started, but that convincing dialogue at the bottom was written by Thomas Dozol, who convinced me with it.
I deleted Facebook and am off IG for the week. I'm so disgusted seeing Zuckerberg with the other billionaires front and center at the inauguration that I think I'll delete the IG and threads accounts too. And so disgusted by the mainstream media toppling and Jeff Bezos' role in that that I deleted my amazon account too. I am enjoying substack immensely. I read this spooky story as distraction and highly recommend it https://samkriss.substack.com/p/theres-someone-on-the-ice and am so disgusted by all the whitewashing of the nazi salute on all other platforms that I'm also getting my news exclusively on substack for better or worse. Ken Klippenstein, Qasim Rashid (he gives action items after his on point analyses so it's the most helpful of all that I read), Opinionated Ogre etc. There's tons of good stuff on here. I'm not looking back. Fuck the billionaires.
