I know the world does too. And this is just to further give you a sense of how many people he touched and how personally (maybe it would be easier to make a list of people whose lives he did not touch, because I can't think of anyone). He became what we called my "surrogate dad" when I was in my 20s and he asked for my help launching what became Vibe magazine and stayed in that role for decades. I've never known anyone more supportive and nonjudgmental and with such unique wisdom – about art and about my love life and about anything else he made it so easy to talk about. I'm taking some time today to think about the truly amazing people who actually called him dad and about everyone else close to him. Let's all share stories about this amazing man, today and always.
PS If you want a laugh, here's a video of me and Quincy and his beautiful daughter Kidada shot over a few days at Neverland Ranch with Michael Jackson. Ah, memories!
So sorry for your loss. I fondly remember the Sassy shoot with Rashida and Kidada 💕
