Beyoncé!

An epic name! Beyoncé and Lunch should have lunch! Also, is it Bey for short?

Lunch is the best name. Your others dogs names were also great! Ball9on and Lemon.

Thanks so much, Ben! And then we have Sunflower, who kind of got the short end of the stick on the names. Our cat was Peach though and I liked that.

Randi! But- she was my boyfriend’s dog before I met him and my ex-husband’s name is Randy. We call them Good Randi and Bad Randy.

Hahahha I love this so much. Bad Randy sounds like a band name - though that Randy with the "y" doesn't deserve the honor

Not that you asked…but I have cats instead: Shasta and Topaz

Also, are people receiving their subscription-upgrade Sassy shirts yet? I haven’t but Canada Post was on strike for a month so maybe that’s why. (Also not sure if you were able to get my address through subscription info? I should know how these things work, lol)

I have heard about some people receiving their shirts already, yes. If you don't get yours, let me know here in comments or email me and we'll take care of it. I'm not sure about the address part of the question. But I do know that Heather Marr must have her pink Sassy shirt!

I’ll give it a couple more weeks because of the postal delays, but will contact you later if I don’t get it. Thanks!

I haven’t received mine yet…

What’s the story behind Lunch’s name?

Expand full comment

I'm here with my daughter Charlotte and I asked her how to answer and she said "just look at him". Which is the best answer. The truth is I had a list of about 30 possible names when I passed by a diner with a sign outside that just said lunch and I thought it was perfect. And for people like us who order in a lot of meals, it creates funny confusion in our household often.

I see that now! He is g-d adorable.

Lunch knows it and says thank you for recognizing it.

I love those names, and I think that cats are harder to name than dogs, in my experience.

Thanks! It was definitely hard for my kids and me to all agree on names for them

Expand full comment

Agreeing on them is so hard. It's amazing Charlotte and I have been so in sync about ours (so far).

I don't have a dog, but my almost 18-year-old cat is named Lowell. (After the poet Robert Lowell)

Beautiful! And congratulations on the almost 18!

Charlene Judine goes by “Charley “.

Beautiful! I love both. I hope sometimes you say the full name too, because it is gorgeous.

Current dog is Bagheera, and previous dog was Sassy, so I’m glad you asked! Got my shirt and love it, thank you!

SASSY!! I'm so glad I asked too! And Bagheera is beautiful too. I am so happy that you like your shirt - which for you has a double meaning - how cool. I am now without a Sassy shirt because I sent my only one to a reader who needed it for a present in time for Christmas so I'm ordering another and then look forward to some kind of group photo with all of us wearing them together. Yay! Thanks for supporting!

Chile! Spelled with an e because my youngest didn’t want him named after the dish - he’s named after red chile peppers. He’s a red poodle.

Expand full comment

That's adorable! So his name is spelled Chile like the place. I like the way your youngest thinks!
