I argue with Jeremy about food three to four times a day. I'm not sure if we agree upon a single food take... except this one. It's a long, poorly ground cheeseburger. Congrats. Go Mets.
Meanwhile, I've been searching for which cheesesteak in New York is actually the most authentically Philadelphia style cheesesteak because there are so many that claim to be that. And my daughter and I do like a cheesesteak, partly for nostalgia reasons. But maybe based on this, maybe I should just stop looking. Help?
I never understood all the hype about Philly cheesesteaks, TBH. This may sound like sacrilege but I'm fine with homemade Steak-ums and some Kraft American cheese slices.
Even as I write this I realize I can’t really argue with you on Owen Wilson: provolone, especially considering I wasn’t interested enough to bother watching the Hollywood films he went on to make and frankly, being a member of something called the “frat pack” is kind of a red flag flag for me, but I will always love his performance in Bottle Rocket, so I feel compelled to defend him. Just look at his face light up at about 1:03 here https://youtu.be/DWAAMIOooUo?si=6tprDg3X0soCNndx and compare to Stephen Colbert’s eyes here https://youtu.be/8brH1kdAySw?si=slq3B6xjZaJP2Syz at 1:40 when Michael Stipe finally gives in and sings along (not the deliberate part of the silly face but the way the eyes light up). Last tangential aside from re-watching that song (on top of the tangential aside that this entire comment already is): Leonard Cohen dying was so the straw that broke the camel’s back that year, a year that had already warned us how much it was going to suck when David Bowie died :( .
Brooke, I don't know you but I do know that you are a genius with impeccable taste! I fucking love DiNic's and I always tell people that if they're going to Philly, this is the sandwich to get. And if you're in New York, Federoff's does a great one.
Um, who hurt you, dude? I read the whole article and when I got to the battery thing, I thought, "Ah, he knows that one thing that happened a long, long time ago that gets brought up from time to time by people who don't know anything else about the area. THEN I read. "...grew up in New Jersey." I get it now. 'Nuff said.
Secondly, if you have been eating Steak-Um meat, that's on you. I love Tony with an undying love and I even think he got it wrong. He liked being controversial, hence the cheesesteak in flipping Camden.

Wow, whoever you are, you're amazing, as is your name!
First of all, the BEST cheesesteaks usually come from the local pizza places. American cheese is superior on the cheesesteak, fyi.
Also, the real star of Philly’s cuisine is the pork sandwich w/broc rabe. DiNic’s is the best!
