You Won!
How to claim your exclusive Sassy, Jane, and XoJane gifts! And most of all, how to come have fun!
By Jane
Oh, I love you all so much, seriously. Hello! And here is the big reveal:
A week or so ago, I asked you to help me decide which of two dates to go with for our first-ever live party (filled with gossip, giveaways, special guest stars, and reminiscing - I sure hope you will reminisce yourselves, because I love hearing your old stories). Your responses about which date you preferred were so impassioned and well reasoned (You can't miss your feminist group, please! Or your pointe class! I would never allow it!) that I couldn't imagine saying no to any of you. (Let's all talk about that more in therapy or at the party.)
Party photo above taken at my last birthday party, on 11/11! Hand model and prop stylist: AJPT contributor Michael Stipe, of course. Photographed by my favorite David, as in Belisle.
So I made the decision to host parties on BOTH nights and you are welcome to come to one or both. You are also welcome to come over to my apartment for tea whenever you want, but we'll plan that separately.
Here is the deal again: live parties with info listed here prior to the events will occur on March 18 at 8:30 PM AND March 26 at 8 PM. I plan on wearing my Sassy t-shirt for it and if you are too, all the more fun! Plus that could be a good photo op that we can all post on our socials - or not.
By the way, I came down with the worst cold/flu two days ago, so I have been in bed straight through (writing here from my prone position, pretending everything's normal, as we do.) I still have no voice, but I'm expecting to be fully back in time for the party on Tuesday. Especially because I have ingested anything in my apartment with the words “immune support” anywhere on it in the last 48 hours. (I don’t want to paint myself as a ninny, because I actually do know a lot about alternative medicines and supplements, but there was no time for that now.) My friend also suggested Tamiflu, but I couldn't find it over-the-counter, even though we both thought it was over-the-counter. Is it?
Hand model and prop stylist extraordinaire: Michael again. Wonderful photographer: David Belisle again. Cake courtesy of Eastwood: Yum!
And you know when I really felt the absolute best so far? Last night after heating up a container of chicken soup I found that had expired in 2020 (in the soft box with foil inside, not a can. Note that there was a can available in the same cupboard that expired in PRACTICALLY NOW 2022, but it was some “lite” low sodium variety, which did not sound like it would do the trick at all. So I made the executive decision.) I think it really helped start to move this sickness along to its natural conclusion. Don’t tell my mom (who has had to listen to me whine all through this already). Thoughts and concerns?
Confirm here in the comments that you'll be there for either the 18th or the 26th. Or both - like I am! (As I said.) General Rules Of Life: Don’t be socially appropriate! If someone offers you two, take two! Don’t deprive yourself! Ever!
You can also tell me your feelings about five-years-post “use-by date” chicken noodle soup or complain about your current ailments or anything else you want below. You know I love it all and I can't wait wait wait to see you up close and personal! Both times!
Love always and forever,
Jane
March 26! Will you be posting info on how to join?
My wife and I are ready - March 26th!
I just found a storage box in my parent's basement full of my old Sassy and Jane magazines <3
